Jamaican Night at Coonamessett Farm

Jamaican Night at Coonamessett Farm

When we heard about this fun night out for the whole family at Coonamessett Farm in Falmouth, MA, we knew we needed to try it.  Finally, after about 3 years of saying we should go - we finally made it happen TWICE this summer.  And let me tell you - it did NOT disappoint.

The Coonamessett Farm in Falmouth, MA is open every day from 9am-5pm.  They are a “membership-based pick-your-own-farm” and they have a “dedicated team of individuals who are passionate about the power of locally sourced food.”  There are levels to membership but start at just $100 - giving farm access to a household up to 4 people, but you don’t need to be a member to come for a visit.

The Jamaican Buffet Dinner at the farm started on June 26 and has been every following Wednesday during the summer.  I recommend heading there around 4 to get a great parking spot, check out the animals, and skip the busy time later in the evening.  The buffet starts at 5pm so grab a table, BYOB and enjoy a fun night out with the whole family.  And don’t miss the steel drum band for great dancing and entertainment.

Here is the menu - that both my kids LOVED (highly recommend the jerk chicken!)

Jerk Chicken and Pork w/mango salsa

Beef Stew

Rice and Beans

Cabbage Saute

Fried Plantains

Festival Dumplings - Nicky’s favorite!

Spanish Town Style Potato Salad

Caribbean Cucumber Salad

Jalapeño Corn Bread - Hadley’s favorite!

Gizzada Coconut Tart

Drinks: Lemonade, Water and Ginger Beer

All inclusive pricing includes 7% tax and 10% tip

** Adult - $40, Child 4-9 - $20, Children under 4 - FREE

Be sure to check them out before summer ends and use our checklist below to hit our favorite stops at the farm:

  • Check the farm board to see what fruit/vegetables are in season and available for picking - we have grabbed the raspberries before and it was so much fun!
  • Stop bye and say “hi!” to the infamous tortoise, Peanut.
  • Grab some eggs (no more than 6!) in the chicken coops - they are so delicious for breakfast or we usually run right home and make some scrambled eggs for lunch after leaving.
  • The alpacas are so adorable and cute to see.
  • The bunnies are adorable - and right next to a great and family friendly bathroom.
  • The playground is so fun and great for the young ones playing pretend house/farm/bakery and even have some cool vintage tractors to play with - a picnic table or two are here if you need a spot to rest in the shade or eat lunch.
  • The Pek 0’ Dirt Bakery has great options inside where you check-in if you want to grab a coffee or muffin.
  • Grab a wagon to pull the kids around if legs are getting tired.
