DIY Fun for Your Kids and Get in the Spooky Spirit!

Looking for ways to keep the Halloween spirit alive? Here are some exciting activities that will entertain kids and create lasting memories for them and the whole family!

Trick-or-Treat Scavenger Hunt: Hide candy around your home or yard and create a scavenger hunt for the kids. It’s a fun twist on traditional trick-or-treating!  Coordinate with your class and host at a playground after school or maybe the neighborhood for a fun, pre-Halloween get together that everyone can enjoy.

Halloween Bingo: Create Bingo cards with Halloween-themed images. This game is great for family gatherings and can be played with friends!  Better yet - order the Halloween Buggy Bag and you get a Halloween-themed tic-tac-toe board with mini spiders to really get you in the spooky spirit!

Storytime Under the Stars: Grab some blankets and flashlights for an outdoor spooky storytime. Gather around to share ghost stories or classic Halloween tales.  There are some great books to help guide the storytelling this Halloween season.  Here is a list of some of our favorites:

  1. Construction Site Gets a Fright
  2. The Spooky Wheels on the Bus
  3. How to Catch a Witch
  4. How to Catch a Monster
  5. The Little Kitten
  6. Gustavo, The Shy Ghost
  7. Gilbert the Ghost
  8. The Pink Ghost

My son loves the Construction Site one the most and Hadley loves to read “The Little Kitten” or “Gustavo, the Shy Ghost” the most in our house.  Happy Haunting!
