Discover Boston with the Whole Family on a Duck Boat Tour!

Looking for a fun and memorable family adventure in Boston? Hop aboard one of the city's famous Duck Boat Tours, departing right from 1 of 3 locations: the Museum of Science, the Aquarium or the Prudential Center! These unique amphibious vehicles take you on a thrilling 80-minute journey through Boston’s rich history—both on land and in the water. It’s an experience that will have your kids talking for days!

What Makes the Duck Boat Tour Special?

The Duck Boat Tour is not your typical sightseeing experience. It’s the perfect mix of fun and education, as your lively tour guide, or "ConDUCKtor," will keep the whole family entertained with stories of Boston’s fascinating past, famous landmarks, and fun facts. You’ll glide through some of Boston’s best sights, including:

Boston Common – America’s oldest public park.

The State House – With its iconic golden dome.

Quincy Market – A great place to grab lunch after your tour!

Bunker Hill Monument – Commemorating a famous battle of the Revolutionary War.

And here’s the best part: halfway through the tour, the Duck Boat transforms into a boat and splashes right into the Charles River! From there, you’ll get a breathtaking view of the Boston and Cambridge skylines, all while floating on the water.

Don’t Forget Your Duck Quacker!

One of the highlights of the tour is the *quack-tastic* experience of joining in with your very own duck quacker noisemaker. These adorable accessories are available for purchase before the tour, and trust us, you’ll want to grab one for every family member! When the ConDUCKtor calls for a round of quacking, everyone gets in on the fun, filling the boat (and Boston streets!) with cheerful quacks. It’s the perfect keepsake to remember your day exploring the city.

Fun for Kids and Grown-ups Alike

Whether your kids are history buffs, animal lovers, or just love being out on the water, the Duck Boat Tour is a surefire hit. It’s the kind of outing where kids can burn off energy while learning something new, and parents can sit back and enjoy the sights and sounds of Boston. Whatever location you start from has plenty of other activities going on nearby if you want to extend your day after the tour.

Tips and Fun Facts

Ticket prices are discounted if you book a tour that departs before 10 AM.

Definitely plan and book ahead! Seats sell out quickly, especially in the summer. Plan accordingly and your group can all sit close together.

All 3 departure locations are located near public transportation.

Did you know that when Boston sports teams win the Championship, Super Bowl or Stanley Cup, they have a Duck Boat Parade, also known as a “Rolling Rally”, in the city and the players and teams ride on the Duck Boats?? That’s something that really excited my kids. Erin worked for the Bruins back in 2011 and she got to ride in their Stanley Cup parade! So amazing and definitely a bucket list moment.

Our Experience

My mother in law and I took 4 of the littles on a Duck Tour this summer for my niece’s birthday. She LOVES ducks so I thought this would be a fun adventure for us. We purchased our tickets for the Museum of Science location, and they also have options to add on a Museum ticket if you want to extend your day there. We found the garage parking to be very convenient, and we had plenty of time to get in a bathroom break, get to our Duck Boat, and purchase a few duck noise makers for the ride. It was a really hot summer day so I’m glad we brought water and some snacks with us. The tour guide was giving a lot of historical information that I think was more palatable by the adults on the tour but he also let all of the kids take turns “driving” the duck boat and that was a highlight for all of them. After the tour we drove right into Charlestown, my old stomping grounds, for lunch at one of our favorite restaurants, Monument. We all had a great lunch and plenty of time to get home before the big kids were out of camp.

So, what are you waiting for? Quack, splash, and roll your way through Boston today!
