It was my daughter’s first ever day at school. Never did daycare or anything out of the home so it was all unexpected. We did the tour and meet the teachers and everything seemed great.
We both left drop off on that very first day in tears. After another day or two of this same routine, my heart couldn’t handle it any longer and I was determined to find some solution or way to ease this whole process.
I got her a new Buggy Bag now almost 2 years ago with special items that all had to do with school. An apple craft, a picture frame that we could use - she would choose the place at school to take a photo to add inside, a new pack of crayons, a keychain to decorate for her backpack and more.
Each morning while we sat and had breakfast and I finished getting ready or packing her lunch, she would work on one of the items from the bag. She would ask if she could bring it to school to show her teacher.
Something had CLICKED.
She was making something to do with school and in turn, it got her thinking about the day, what lay ahead and the excitement of showing her teacher or new friends something she made.
We continued this process last year and plan to do it again this year when her little brother will be joining her.
Whether you choose the “Buggy Bookworm” Bag or another bag that may be of more interest to them - it is a great way to keep them busy in the morning and potentially excited to share their creations. Use these bags to help you wherever you can - we know it helped us.
xoxo,
Erin
